The teeth are real and 6.5 inches is a usable comb length, which is what makes it convincing. How long is the blade? 3 inches, single edged. The comb is 6.5 inches overall. How does the blade come out? You pull the handle section away from the comb body. The blade is fixed to the handle and the comb body is its sheath, so there is no button, spring or lock to work. Does it lock open? No. It is a fixed blade in a sheath rather than a folder, which is why there is nothing to fail and nothing to learn. Can you ship it to my state? Everywhere in the US except Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Those three regulate disguised and concealed blades specifically, so we leave them out. Whether you can carry it is a separate question and still worth checking for your own city. Is it legal to carry? That depends entirely on where you are. Blade laws vary by state and city, and disguised knives are frequently singled out, so check your local rules before carrying it. Does it come in other colors? The same comb is available in pink, black and galaxy print. Does it make a good gift? It is an easy one to give because it is genuinely useful and it does not read as a weapon when it is unwrapped. Just make sure the person receiving it can legally carry one where they live.
