Jasper itself is a microcrystalline variety of the mineral chalcedony. Microcrystalline means its crystals are too small to be seen with the naked eye. The formation of jasper can begin when loose sediments become stuck together. This happens when groundwater containing silica that has seeped into sedimentary rock dries up. The silica then acts like glue and cements everything together. In regards to Lemon Jasper, it is an opaque, microcrystalline variety of Quartz with large, grainy crystals rather than the fibrous layers of Chalcedony or Agate. It occurs in nodules or as fillings in fissures and is found all over the world. Its mustard, sandy or burnished yellow coloration is due to high iron content, and may contain other minerals or impurities that create rich patterns and veining. These tumbled stones really highlight the formation and fibrous layers within.  According to metaphysics: is a very claiming stone which is known for easing stress and anxiety.
