Leica M EV1 Camera

Built-In EVF Brilliance in a Classic M Body The Leica M EV1 marks a bold evolution in the M lineage, introducing an integrated electronic viewfinder that unlocks an entirely new way to see and compose within the iconic M form factor. Designed for photographers who love the tactile, minimalist feel of the M system but want more precision with ultra-wide, telephoto, and fast-aperture lenses, the EV1 blends modern clarity with time-tested craftsmanship. The familiar silhouette, the trusted M-mount, and the imaging power inherited from the M11 series all return—only now with a viewing experience that aligns perfectly with today’s creative demands. A New Era of Precision Viewing The 5.76-million-dot OLED EVF becomes your window into exactly what the sensor captures, offering crisp magnification, full-frame visibility, and real-time exposure preview. This new viewfinder transforms how you work with shallow depth of field, adapted lenses, close-focus optics, and focal lengths traditionally difficult to manage on a rangefinder. Focusing tools such as peaking highlights, magnified assistance, a reimagined FN lever for instant access to aids and digital zoom, and on-screen composition guides give photographers a level of accuracy previously unreachable in the M lineup. Whether chasing perfect alignment or dialing in razor-sharp focus on a Summilux, the EV1 provides complete confidence in every frame. Flagship Sensor Performance Inside the body lies the celebrated 60MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor shared with the M11 family, delivering remarkable detail, low-light strength, and lifelike color. Its ultra-thin dual-layer filter glass enhances clarity by managing UV and IR wavelengths with incredible precision. With Triple Resolution Technology, you can choose between 60MP, 36MP, or 18MP output—each using the full sensor area and offering exceptional dynamic range. Backed by the Maestro III processor, the EV1 supports continuous shooting up to 4.5 fps, a wide ISO 64–50000 range, and extremely fast image processing, making it one of the smoothest and most responsive M cameras ever built. Modern Tools for Creative Freedom The EV1 expands its capabilities with an electronic shutter reaching 1/16,000 sec, allowing you to use fast lenses wide open even in bright conditions. Optional digital zoom crops (1.3x and 1.8x) appear directly in the viewfinder for simulated reach. The camera houses long-exposure noise management, multi-field metering, and built-in Content Credentials technology that securely records metadata for image authenticity and traceability. It’s a tool built not only for exceptional imaging but also for transparency and trust in a world of digital media. Refined Design, Built for the Long Run The rear 2.95" touchscreen is brighter and cleaner than before, supported by a refreshed menu layout inspired by the Q and SL systems. Removing the optical rangefinder gives the front a sleek, streamlined appearance, complemented by a new diamond-textured leatherette. The body is lighter than the M11-P, while still housing a BP-SCL7 battery, a UHS-II SD card slot, and 64GB of internal storage for flexible backup and overflow shooting. Live view stabilization adds steady framing for longer lenses, and USB-C makes charging and file transfer convenient in the field. Seamless Connected Workflow Wired or wireless, the EV1 integrates effortlessly with the Leica FOTOS app. Using the included FOTOS Cable, it connects directly to an iPhone for quick file transfers and mobile reviewing. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable remote control, metadata syncing, ratings, and geotagging. The EV1 is built to support a modern, mobile-first workflow while staying true to the pure photographic experience Leica users expect.
