Handcrafted in the village of Tunis — a picturesque settlement nestled between Lake Qaroun and the desert dunes of the Fayoum Oasis — the Leaves Mini Ceramic Plate carries the unmistakable mark of Egypt's most celebrated pottery tradition. In the 1980s, Swiss ceramic artist Evelyn Porret founded a pottery school in Tunis, introducing the village children to the craft of clay. Her graduates became the village's master potters, shaping a distinctly Tunisian aesthetic: hand-formed pieces adorned with primitive motifs drawn from the local flora and fauna. Each piece is shaped from clay sourced along the Nile banks of Aswan, then hand-glazed and painted by hand — no two are identical. The Leaves Mini Ceramic Plate features a delicate hand-painted leaf motif in green and indigo tones, bringing a quiet elegance to any setting. Petite in scale but rich in character, it works equally well as a side dish, a jewellery catchall, or a decorative accent on a shelf or tablescape.
