Lavender Rhododendron Shrub

Vibrant Bouquets of Fragrant Blooms The Lavender Rhododendron is a vigorous grower, recognized for its huge clusters of vibrant purple flowers. Flaunting year-round lustrous leathery leaves, this stunning evergreen is a lively addition to any outdoor setting. While the Lavender Rhododendron is genuinely appealing just for its dazzling foliage, the real attraction starts around mid-spring when giant clusters of dark purple blooms begin to appear. Nothing compares to these huge, fragrant blooms, making this one of the most popular rhododendron varieties we've ever carried. With such amazing foliage and blooms, it is no wonder that the National Arbor Day Foundation calls it one of America's most beautiful plants. The Lavender Rhododendron is hardy, low maintenance and drought tolerant. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and is adaptable to a variety of soil conditions. You can just plant it and let it do its garden magic. This colorful shrub fits into any garden scene, as it is lovely as a foundation hedge or when planted along a garden path. But every spring, it will end up taking center stage in your outdoor living area when it busts with purple blooms for weeks on end. Maturing to heights of 4-8 feet, this Rhododendron is perfect for smaller areas where space may be tight. You can lightly prune it to maintain a desired size and shape if you like. This Rhododendron is perfect if you're trying to achieve an English or cottage garden look, but is equally at home in a simple garden as well. Putting it beside a water feature will create a postcard-perfect look that few will forget when this plant is in bloom. The Lavender Rhododendron isn't bothered by pest or diseases, and deer steer clear of this tough-as-nails beauty, too. It is continually a customer favorite and sells out fast every year.
