English lavender is grown primarily for its aromatic properties, and can also be used in teas, sweet baked goods, and in savory dishes like marinades for meat and seafood. 英国薰衣草的种植主要是因为其芳香特性，也可用于茶、甜烘焙食品以及肉类腌料等咸味菜肴中 和海鲜。 Lavender can be difficult to start from seed, and should be germinated well in advance of planting season.  Stratify seeds to be germinated by soaking in water in the refrigerator for 24 hours, then place seeds in a wet paper towel in a plastic bag or container in the refrigerator for another 2-3 weeks.  Once growth is observed, place in a seed starter and keep moist (not wet) until leaves grow, then transfer to garden in a sunny area.
