Laser X2™

The Laser X2™ takes you back to the dawn of modern model rocketry, when pioneers like Lee Piester were pushing the boundaries of imagination and design. Inspired by the 1960s original, this modern release blends classic sci-fi aesthetics with advanced engineering, giving model rocketeers the chance to build a true piece of history. Every detail, from its elegant silhouette to its intricate fin tips, evokes the excitement of a future once imagined. Vintage Style Meets Modern Performance Don’t let its retro looks fool you; the Laser X2™ is built for performance. Its sleek boat tail design and precision laser-cut balsa fins deliver aerodynamic stability, while redesigned decals and paint accents showcase its futuristic styling. Launch it on a recommended C5-3 or C6-3 engine, and watch as it soars up to 450 feet before deploying a 15-inch parachute for a smooth recovery. A Build for the Dedicated Modeler Designed as part of our exclusive Designer Signature Series, the Laser X2™ is an Advanced skill level kit, ideal for hobbyists who enjoy the rewarding challenge of a detailed build. Laser-cut balsa wood fins, blow-molded nose cone, and precision-engineered parts ensure both authenticity and durability. This isn’t just a model rocket, it’s a hands-on journey through craftsmanship, patience, and the thrill of achievement. What You’ll Need To bring your Laser X2™ to life, you’ll need basic hobby supplies like a hobby knife, fine sandpaper, sanding block, scissors, plastic and yellow glue, masking tape, primer, paint, and optional clear coat. Pair it with a Porta-Pad® II Launch Pad, Electron Beam® Launch Controller, recovery wadding, and recommended Estes® engines to complete your launch checklist. Once assembled, you’ll be ready to step into the shoes of early rocketry visionaries and experience liftoff like never before. Curious about how this rocket came to life?
