This Larsonite stone has a variety of beautiful green hues. This pendant comes with an 18” wax cord necklace, extendable to 20”. Larsonite is distinct type of petrified wood. Specifically, bogwood that is a combination of canes, trees, algae, plants (such as cattails) and organisms that were in the bog when it petrified, which probably happened around 11 to 14 million years ago. It is only found near McDermitt Nevada and was first mined by Gary McIntosh and Ray Larson - so you can call it McDermitt Jasper, or Gary Green Jasper, or Larsonite. In many cases this stone has attractive shades of blue and green, and well preserved wood grain patterns.
