Large Copper Port Kimberwick

The Large Copper Port Kimberwick Bit features a copper mouthpiece with a port that sits above the tongue and engages the palate when rein pressure is applied. This encourages proper head elevation and discourages leaning or heavy contact. Kimberwick cheekpieces offer mild leverage while supporting steady rein contact. Ideal for experienced riders working with well-trained horses that respond to palate engagement and benefit from the natural salivation promoted by copper. Key Features of the Large Copper Port Mouthpiece : Palate Engagement : The large port sits above the tongue and makes contact with the palate when reins are engaged, encouraging the horse to elevate its head. Suitable only for well-trained horses and experienced riders. Tongue clearance : The port provides space for the tongue, helping prevent the horse from getting its tongue over the bit and allowing a more natural mouth position. Copper Material : The copper encourages salivation, keeping the mouth moister and more responsive, which supports softer, attentive contact. Kimberwick Design Features : Leverage Options : The Kimberwick cheekpieces include multiple rein slot options, allowing the rider to choose different levels of leverage depending on rein placement. This versatility lets riders customize the bit's effect, making it adaptable for a range of horses. Stabilized Positioning : The fixed cheekpieces hold the bit in a steady position within the horse’s mouth, helping maintain consistent pressure and reducing the chance of the bit moving laterally. Gentle Curb Action : When rein pressure is applied, the Kimberwick provides a mild curb action, which can encourage the horse to stay collected and responsive.
