Large Copper Port D

The Large Copper Port D-Ring Bit features a copper mouthpiece with a port that sits above the tongue and engages the palate when rein pressure is applied. This encourages proper head elevation and discourages leaning or heavy contact. D-ring cheekpieces provide lateral stability and prevent the bit from sliding, supporting consistent rein contact. Ideal for experienced riders working with well-trained horses that respond to palate engagement and benefit from the natural salivation promoted by copper. Key Features of the Large Copper Port Mouthpiece : Palate Engagement : The large port sits above the tongue and makes contact with the palate when reins are engaged, encouraging the horse to elevate its head. Suitable only for well-trained horses and experienced riders. Tongue clearance : The port provides space for the tongue, helping prevent the horse from getting its tongue over the bit and allowing a more natural mouth position. Copper Material : The copper encourages salivation, keeping the mouth moister and more responsive, which supports softer, attentive contact. D-Ring Design Features: Lateral Stability : The fixed D-shaped rings provide lateral stability, preventing the bit from sliding through the horse’s mouth and offering more precise control during turns. Direct Communication : The D-Ring allows for a more stable and direct connection between the rider's hands and the horse’s mouth, making it suitable for horses that need clearer guidance and more consistent contact. Gentle Guidance : While providing stability, the D-Ring design ensures smooth and gentle communication between horse and rider, encouraging responsiveness without discomfort.
