Larceny Barrel Proof BottleStork Single Barrel 750ML

Larceny Barrel Proof BottleStork Single Barrel 750ML is a cask-strength wheated Kentucky bourbon bottled at 126.7 proof (63.35% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. This privately selected single barrel expression draws from the same line that earned Whisky Advocate's 2020 Whisky of the Year (batch B520), delivering an individually chosen cask with its own distinct character at full barrel proof. Quick Facts: ABV: 63.35% (126.7 proof)  |  Origin: Bardstown, Kentucky  |  Aged 6–8 Years  |  Distillery: Heaven Hill Production & Heritage Heaven Hill Distillery, founded in 1935 and still family-owned in Bardstown, Kentucky, produces Larceny from a wheated mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley — a higher wheat proportion than most competitors in the category. This mashbill traces its lineage to the historic Old Fitzgerald Distillate (O.F.D.), named after legendary bourbon figure John E. Fitzgerald, who was known for hand-selecting the finest barrels from the rickhouse. This single barrel selection was aged between six and eight years, left non-chill filtered, and bottled directly from the cask at its natural 126.7 proof, preserving every ounce of texture and flavor the barrel imparted. Tasting Notes Aroma: The nose opens with deep butterscotch and caramel sweetness, followed by waves of cinnamon, clove, and toasted oak. Underneath, softer notes of baked bread and vanilla emerge as the whiskey breathes. Taste: The entry is rich and full-bodied, with brown sugar, maple syrup, and brandied peaches coating the palate. Mid-palate, baking spices intensify alongside bright cherry, French toast, and a layer of spiced chocolate. At full proof, the wheat-forward mashbill keeps the heat integrated rather than aggressive, delivering a round, almost creamy texture despite the high proof. Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of burnt flan, gingerbread, and root beer float sweetness. Oak tannins and cinnamon sugar carry through on the backend, fading gradually into nutmeg and dark caramel. How to Drink Larceny Barrel Proof At 126.7 proof, a few drops of water or a single large ice cube open up the sweeter, wheated characteristics without drowning them. Neat sipping rewards patience — the flavor profile shifts meaningfully over 10 to 15 minutes in the glass.  Old Fashioned: The high proof and caramel-forward profile stand up to sugar and bitters without losing definition.  Boulevardier: The wheat softness and cherry notes complement sweet vermouth and Campari's bitterness beautifully.  Kentucky Mule: Barrel proof intensity punches through ginger beer and lime, creating a cocktail with real backbone. How does Larceny Barrel Proof compare to Elijah Craig Barrel Proof? Both are produced by Heaven Hill and bottled at cask strength, but Larceny uses a wheated mashbill (68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barley) while Elijah Craig uses a traditional rye-based mashbill, resulting in a softer, sweeter profile for Larceny versus the spicier, more tannic character of ECBP. Both occupy a similar price tier and release cadence. Is Larceny Barrel Proof good for sipping neat? Yes — despite the 126.7 proof, the wheat-heavy mashbill and non-chill filtered bottling produce a texture that is surprisingly approachable neat, though a few drops of water further unlock its sweeter notes. Where is Larceny Barrel Proof made? It is distilled and aged at Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, one of the largest bourbon producers in the United States and a family-owned operation since 1935. What foods pair well with Larceny Barrel Proof? Dark chocolate truffles complement the caramel and spice; smoked brisket or pulled pork echoes the charred oak sweetness; pecan pie mirrors the brown sugar and nutmeg notes; aged sharp cheddar provides a savory counterpoint to the bourbon's sweetness; and crème brûlée mirrors its burnt flan and vanilla character. What sizes does Larceny Barrel Proof come in? This single barrel selection is available in a standard 750ml bottle. Is Larceny Barrel Proof worth the price? It positions as a premium barrel proof bourbon that competes directly with expressions like Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, and the single barrel selection adds exclusivity and individual cask character that standard batch releases do not provide, making it strong value within its tier. Why Larceny Barrel Proof? What separates this bottle from the standard Larceny Barrel Proof batches — which have already earned top honors from Whisky Advocate and prominent critics like Fred Minnick — is the single barrel selection process, meaning one specific cask was chosen for its standout character. The wheated mashbill carrying 20% wheat is one of the highest proportions in Kentucky bourbon, directly descended from the historic Old Fitzgerald recipe that has been a benchmark for the style since the 19th century. At 126.7 proof and non-chill filtered, nothing has been stripped or diluted, so you are tasting the barrel exactly as it developed over its years in the rickhouse. For drinkers who want barrel proof intensity without the aggressive rye bite, this single barrel pick delivers a rare combination of power and approachability.
