Key Specifications: Product: Larceny Barrel Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch Number: B525 (Second release of 2025) Mash Bill: 68% Corn, 20% Wheat, 12% Malted Barley Proof | ABV: 117.4 Proof | 58.7% ABV Age: A blend of bourbons aged 6 to 8 years Distillery: Heaven Hill Distillery, Bardstown, KY Filtration: Non-Chill Filtered, Uncut Brand History: A Legendary Tale The Larceny brand pays homage to the story of John E. Fitzgerald, a treasury agent in the late 1800s who used his rickhouse keys to "liberate" the finest barrels for himself. These barrels became known as "Fitzgerald's," and the legend was born. The Larceny brand, produced by Heaven Hill, is a continuation of the Old Fitzgerald brand legacy, using a "wheated" bourbon recipe to create a smoother, softer profile than bourbons that use rye as the secondary grain. The Barrel Proof series allows drinkers to experience this acclaimed wheated bourbon at its full power. Tasting Notes: A Rich and Warming Wheated Profile Batch B525 delivers a classic, powerful, and deeply satisfying tasting experience: Nose: A rich bouquet of dark fruit, fig, and black cherry, layered with notes of sweet caramel, cinnamon, and a hint of toasted oak. Palate: A wonderfully rich and viscous mouthfeel. A wave of buttery toffee and baked apple washes over the palate, followed by a robust spice of black pepper and nutmeg that perfectly balances the sweetness. Finish: The finish is exceptionally long and warming, with a signature Kentucky "hug" that lingers with notes of brown sugar, dark fruit, and a final, satisfying touch of peppery spice. Why B525 is a Must-Have Batch: Uncut & Unfiltered: You are tasting this bourbon exactly as it was in the barrel—non-chill filtered and at its natural 117.4 proof for maximum flavor and texture. The Power of Wheated Bourbon: Experience the full potential of a wheated mash bill at cask strength, delivering a profile that is both rich and surprisingly smooth for its proof. A: The batch number is a code for the release schedule. The "B" indicates it is the second release of the year (A, B, C). The "5" signifies the month of release (May). The "25" represents the year (2025). Q: What is a "wheated" bourbon? A: A wheated bourbon uses wheat as its secondary flavoring grain in the mash bill, instead of the more common rye. This typically results in a softer, smoother, and often sweeter flavor profile, especially at lower proofs. At barrel proof, it delivers a rich, bready sweetness. Q: How is this different from the standard 92-proof Larceny Small Batch? A: The standard Larceny is bottled at an approachable 92 proof. The Barrel Proof series is bottled uncut, straight from the barrel, at a much higher proof (117.4 for B525). This results in a significantly bolder, more intense, and more complex flavor experience. Q: Is this related to the W.L. Weller line of bourbons? A: While both are famous wheated bourbons, they are made by different distilleries with different mash bills and production methods. Larceny is produced by Heaven Hill, while Weller is produced by Buffalo Trace. Q: How should I drink this high-proof bourbon? A: This bourbon is excellent for sipping neat to experience its full, powerful flavor. However, due to its high proof, many people enjoy adding a few drops of water or a single large ice cube. This can temper the alcohol and "open up" new layers of aroma and flavor. Q: Where can I purchase Larceny Barrel Proof B525? A: This is a highly sought-after, limited-release product.
