"smooth & fragrant, with a nuanced floral note on the finish."  Wow, this is a very refreshing and delicious tea!  Think of everything you love about black tea and this has it all up front.  Our Lapsang Souchong is probably different from every other Lapsang Souchong you have ever had in three ways:  Firstly, these leaves are hand-picked from a natural grove of tea trees, then wilted, oxidized, and hand-roasted by our producer.  We are talking bio-dynamic, direct-trade, premium, high-quality leaves on this one!   Secondly, it's not smoked.  In the old days, this tea was made for mass export to the West so it was chopped up, roasted and smoked to give it extra flavor for Westerners who couldn't make out a good tea if they had to.   Nowadays, China's middle class is stronger and tea drinkers around the world are better educated so farmers are able to make much better profit by making quality teas again including this one!  Win-Win!   Thirdly, it's grown in the original hometown of Lapsang Souchong - Wuyi Mountain.  All in all, this is everything I like about our teas at BTTC!  Please enjoy.  (Btw, this tea is also known by it's Mandarin name Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong （正山小种） Varietal:  Xiaozhong  Location:  Wuyishan, Northern Fujian Province.  Elevation: 800M Harvest: Spring 2024 Brewing:  One heaping teaspoon of Lapsang Souchong in 8 oz. of boiling hot water, Steep for 4-5 minutes.
