Beaded Laos Pillowcase, Chevron

A delicately hand beaded pillowcase, by Mone and Doi, in northern Laos. These sisters use only local cotton and natural plant dyes made by their family, hand making each piece in traditional patterns with care. Approximately 17" x 17" Laos is a beautiful, mountainous country bordered by Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China. Long a part of French Indochine, Laos retains aspects of French culture, most obvious in its food, coffee, and architecture. Weaving has a long tradition in Laos, and our Laos collection highlights the beauty and functionality of the country's textiles.
