LANY YU

-Gabriela Morac * “Let corn be your root” Amnesiacs of our historical memory; ignorant of the past, unaware of our Anahuac ancestors, and with a Westernized history told for the benefit of a few, we walk through life in search of a sense of belonging that alienates us and, at the same time, leaves us dissatisfied because we find no fulfillment in it. And it is that we do not fit into a history that is not our own. It is a feeling in our chest; it is like a small flame that neither goes out nor burns, or an emptiness that cannot be filled. Our origin dates back to one of the civilizations that reached the highest level of development in the world, yet for centuries we have been forced to forget it. -Gabriela Morac
