Language Arts 11 – Term 1 - 4 (sold separately) This paper and pencil course offers 11th grade students an in-depth study of classical and modern literary texts, chosen to enhance their understanding of language, storytelling, and the human experience. Students explore how narrative structures, character development, and symbolism reveal deeper meanings within texts, encouraging a richer appreciation of literature across time periods and genres. Throughout the four terms, students write in a variety of styles—including informational, literary, and persuasive texts—to reflect on personal experiences, express observations, and present reasoned arguments. Writing instruction supports the development of voice, coherence, and structure, while reinforcing grammar and usage aligned with Common Core standards. This course is designed to extend students’ thinking, enhance their learning strategies, and foster critical reflection and self-awareness. Through reading, writing, and discussion, students develop essential communication skills and the confidence to express ideas clearly and effectively.
