Lake Baikal Spooky Lakes Giclée Print

This print is from the Spooky Lakes: 25 Strange and Mysterious Lakes that Dot Our Planet book!  These high-quality, beautiful Giclée prints are made locally in Madison, Wisconsin. The texture of the paper and the high-definition scan combined means that this print looks just like my original painting! The paper is soft and beautiful, with the texture of the original watercolor paper I used to make my painting!  Are you a Lake Baikal fan? The oldest lake in the world!! The deepest lake in the world! 25 million years old and 5,387 feet deep! It's so deep it has gas hydrates at the bottom! It freezes over in the winter and they used to build train tracks across the lake! It's the coolest lake on the planet!! Of course you're a Lake Baikal Fan!  "The life-forms in Lake Baikal are strange. Around 80 percent of the life at Lake Baikal is endemic, which means it isn’t found anywhere else on Earth. One example is the Baikal omul fish, a local delicacy. Another endemic fish, the golomyanka, also known as the Baikal oilfish, is rumored to dissolve in sunlight, leaving behind only fatty oil and bones. Another strange creature is the invertebrate amphipod, a spiny-looking shrimp critter. Lake Baikal is often compared to the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador because both are unique environments with a wide variety of endemic species." The original artwork was gouache on watercolor paper. This edition is Giclée printed on watercolor, 100% cotton rag, acid-free, archival paper.  11"x 14" This is the second edition of 50, signed and dated Your print will be carefully packaged with a backing board in a protective cover, then wrapped inside a rigid mailer to ensure it's protected during shipping.  P.S. I picked out Lake Baikal, Lake Kaindy, and Lake Karachay to make as prints because I loved them but also because they look great together. I added an image of how they look a group <3
