Designed as both a stunning decorative piece and a practical educational tool, the Lafayette Globe is handcrafted in the USA with heirloom-quality craftsmanship, making it a perfect addition to your home, office, or library. Antique Ocean Style: Evoking the charm of the 18th century, the Antique Ocean version features parchment-style oceans with pastel-toned continents and countries. The map's muted color palette blends seamlessly with traditional and modern decor alike. When illuminated, the dual-cartographic map reveals additional details, such as political boundaries, offering both beauty and functionality. The hand-cut and applied map is a unique feature, showcasing impeccable craftsmanship. This style does not include Raised Relief. Blue Ocean Style: Reflecting the beauty of Earth as seen from space, the Blue Ocean version features bright blue oceans and vibrant landmasses. The raised relief surface highlights topographical features, adding a tactile element. When illuminated, the map shifts to a political style, making it an excellent tool for learning geography. This dual-map cartography makes the Blue Ocean version both visually captivating and highly functional. Both versions are mounted on a solid walnut-finished hardwood base with a cradle mount and a die-cast metal numbered meridian, allowing smooth, multi-directional viewing. The globe stands 33 inches tall and is equipped with casters for easy mobility, making it convenient to move to your desired location.
