Lab-Aids: Kitchen Chemistry Kit

Lab-Aids: Measuring Experiments Kit    This diverse LAB-AIDS‚® provides a series of individualized activities that require students to perform increasingly sophisticated measurements. The primary focus on length over a wide range of dimensions provides ample opportunities to practice using metric units. This kit is a "must have" for science students at any level. The kit is complete for 24 students and is reusable. Scientific Concepts: Measure of common objects Utilization of iformation from graphs Measuring with tools and an astrolab Measure angles Determine the Earth's radius, diameter and circumference Measure the distance to the Sun Consider magnitude of the Solar System Determine "size" of low moon vs. high moon Determine diameter of the moon Use of baselines and range-finder to determine distance Content List: 1 Teacher's Guide 50 Student Worksheets and Guides: Part I and Part II 12 Brass clips 12 LAB-AIDS‚® rangefinder/earth rules 24 Magnets 12 Marble balls 1 String, pkg 50 Strips, paper 12 Protractors 100 Graph paper, sheets 24 Straws 12 Weights 12 Sets of Student Activity Cards #1 12 Sets of Student Activity Cards #2 12 Sets of Student Activity Cards #3 12 Sets of Student Activity Cards #4 Classroom Planning: To complete this kit requires one ~50-minute class period.
