Korean Black-Glazed High-Footed Ceramic Plate

Meet the Korean Black-Glazed High-Footed Ceramic Plate, wheel-thrown and handcrafted by Hunseong Jang in Icheon, Korea.  Handcrafted in Icheon, Korea, this sculptural pedestal dish by ceramic artist Hunseong Jang was originally created for use in fine dining restaurants, where thoughtful presentation is as essential as the cuisine itself. Raised on a cylindrical foot, the elevated form lends height and presence to plated compositions, transforming even the simplest ingredients into a carefully considered arrangement. The surface is finished in a deep matte black, accented with a subtle geometric impression that adds quiet texture without distracting from the food it presents. Designed with both function and restraint in mind, the dish reflects Hunseong Jang’s philosophy of creating vessels that enhance rather than compete with what they hold. Equally suited for serving amuse-bouches, petits fours, or as a sculptural object on its own, it embodies the understated elegance of contemporary Korean ceramics. Each piece is individually handcrafted, with subtle variations that celebrate the character of the maker’s hand. Dimensions: approx. Ø 2.5" x H 1" Handcrafted in Icheon, Korea.
