Kool-Out™ Poultice

Horses of all shapes, sizes, and breeds can benefit from the use of poultice. Oftentimes, exercise or strenuous activity can cause minor inflammation and discomfort especially in the legs and surrounding tissues. As a result, the horse can experience longer than normal recovery times and its overall performance can be affected. Finish Line®’s poultices are clay based pastes that can be easily applied to horses’ lower legs and hooves. The poultice works by drawing excess heat and fluid from the tissues. This helps cool and tighten horses legs after exercise or strenuous activity. Equine skin is 8-10 times more sensitive than human skin. Kool-Out™ Poultice was formulated specifically for horses with sensitive skin and can be applied daily without causing irritation. Its easy on and easy off application make it a top choice for horse owners and trainers worldwide to support recovery and provide the temporary relief of minor stiffness and soreness due to overexertion. Kool-Out™ Poultice has the following benefits for your horse: It cools and tightens your horse’s legs after workouts, performances, events and races Mild enough for everyday use and for horses with sensitive skin Can be used over minor nicks, cuts, blisters and other surface abrasions Easy on and easy off application How to apply poultice Clean legs with non-medicated cleanser Apply poultice evenly, 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick Cover with wet paper Top wet paper with cotton Apply quilted pad Wrap with bandage Leave on overnight Remove all wraps and bandages Rinse with cold water, and repeat as necessary Alternatively, it can be applied to clean legs and left uncovered for up to 24 hours.
