Ozone Kona 3

Based on the Buzz Z7 Versatile cross-over wing for paramotoring and paragliding High-performance non-reflex Shark Nose profile Easy and comfortable to fly Dedicated risers featuring trimmers and tip steering system Ideal for beginner/intermediate pilots who enjoy both paragliding and paramotor using only one wing PEDIGREE The Kona 3 is the PPG version of the Buzz Z7, sharing the same technology, cutting-edge performance, comfort and ease of use. It is the perfect cross-over wing that excels whether flown under power or in free flight. DESIGN New planform with increased wing sweep for improved roll stability New rib alignment for improved airflow and efficiency. New tab positioning improves stability in accelerated flight. New leading edge construction with more reinforcement and cleaner profile. New line rigging for improved load-distribution to increase agility. New panel shaping in the trailing edge for improved handling and brake response. All of these refinements have improved flight characteristics and performance. The first thing you will notice is a more linear and direct response in the brakes and the resulting increase in agility and precision of handling. Top speed has also been increased, and glide performance improved throughout the accelerator range. COMFORT AND PROGRESSION Above all else, the Kona 3 is easy to fly with intuitive, fun, progressive and precise feel through the brakes. It is highly compact, with perfectly coordinated roll and yaw for a sporty agile feel. Launching is a critical part of every flight, and we have paid particular attention to the ground-handling characteristics of the Kona 3. It inflates smoothly, without overshooting in higher winds and zero wind conditions there is no tendency to hang back. All of these factors provide you with the confidence to progress and have fun, whether flying under power or in free-flight mode. PILOT The Kona 3 is suitable for a wide range of pilots from talented beginners to the most experienced, it is ideal for those who fly between around 30-50 hours per year and enjoy free flying as much as powered flight. Owning dedicated wings for both disciplines is expensive, the Kona 3 offers the perfect balance in one package. POWER RISERS The Kona PPG risers feature a smooth trim system for comfortable high speed cruising when flying under power and a foot operated accelerator system to reach top speeds and when free flying. The risers also feature tip steering system and adjustable brake pulleys so the height can be set to make it compatible with any type of power unit.   SPECIFICATIONS SIZES 22 24 26 27 29 31 Number of cells 48 48 48 48 48 48 Projected area (m2) 18.6 20.3 21.6 23 24.4 26.3 Flat Area (m^2) 22.1 24.1 25.7 27.3 29 31.2 Projected Span (m) 8.21 8.58 8.85 9.12 9.4 9.76 Flat Span (m) 10.67 11.14 11.5 11.85 12.21 12.68 Projected Aspect Ratio 3.62 3.62 3.62 3.62 3.62 3.62 Flat Aspect Ratio 5.15 5.15 5.15 5.15 5.15 5.15 Root Chord (m) 2.61 2.73 2.82 2.91 2.99 3.11 Glider Weight* (kg) 4.81 5.07 5.33 5.56 5.93 6.22 PG (EN) (kg) 55-70 65-85 75-95 85-105 95-115 110-130 PPG (DGAC) (kg) 60-100 70-115 80-130 90-145 100-160 115-180 Certification EN** B B B B B B DGAC DGAC DGAC DGAC DGAC DGAC DGAC * Weights may vary up to 50gm per size due to slight variations in the manufacturing of the fabric used. ** This wing has passed the criteria required by the DGAC and has been load tested to the EN 926-1 standard. In addition to our own extensive testing, it has also been independently flight tested to the EN 926-2 standard with the trimmers set to the slow position. Releasing the trimmers, or flying outside of the EN certified weight range invalidates any EN flight certification. As delivered, the wing does not conform to the EN 926-2 standard due to the inclusion of the trimmer systems on the risers.
