What does the KoAloha KTM-10 Pikake sound like and who is it for? KoAloha describes the tone of its koa ukuleles as a balance of warmth and brightness, and says they suit styles from fingerpicking to strumming and from classical to jazz. In his review of the KTM-10, Terry Carter describes the sound as crisp with a lot of depth, and the satin neck as smooth to play. In his satin versus gloss comparison, he says satin ukuleles tend to ring out a little more than gloss ones, and that a gloss finish can hide imperfections in the wood, so a satin ukulele needs more carefully chosen wood.
