Koaʻs Seed

Long, long ago in Hawai‘i, an ali‘i gathered all the men in the village and announced he would select a new leader—something that had never happened before. To each, he gave one seed for planting. A young man named Koa took his seed and carefully and lovingly tended it for a year. From this seed, Koa is taught a valuable lesson. This is an age-old tale that has its roots in antiquity. It is a story that has traveled with camel caravans and sailing ships many times around the world. This is the first version to be retold in a children’s book with a Hawaiian theme. _____ Written by Carolyn Han Illustrated by Kathleen Peterson _____ hardcover   |   32 pages   |   8" x 9"   |   color
