This handcrafted Byers’ Choice Knecht Ruprecht Caroler is festive and perfect for the Christmas holiday season. Part of the Holiday Traditions Collection, this figure adds a touch of old-world folklore to your Christmas decorations with his bundle of sticks and lump of coal—symbols of his role in age-old tales of discipline and reward. Details 10 Inches Tall 1 Pound SKU: 3321 Handcrafted with love by Artisans in Chalfont, PA Story Knecht Ruprecht first appeared in German folklore as a stern companion to Saint Nicholas. While St. Nick delivered gifts to good children, Ruprecht punished the naughty with switches or coal. Often dressed in dark robes and carrying a staff or sack, he served as a reminder that good behavior was rewarded—but mischief had consequences during the holiday season.
