KMC eGlide E-Bike Chain — 9/10/11-Speed, 132 Links, Silver

This is KMC’s eGlide chain, built specifically for high-torque e-bike drivetrains and optimized for Shimano CUES systems while remaining compatible with most 9, 10, and 11-speed setups. It’s designed to handle the lateral load and motor torque that destroy standard bike chains. Key Functional Details E-bike rated chain for mid-drive and hub-drive systems Compatible with 9, 10, and 11-speed drivetrains 132 link length for long e-bike chainstays 1/2" x 11/128" sizing Shield Tech riveting with oversized reinforced e-pins for high pin strength Special plate shaping for wider cog teeth and smoother engagement Heat-treated for increased rigidity and fatigue resistance Silver finish Designed around Shimano CUES but works across most e-bike drivetrains Compatibility & Technical Notes Fits Shimano CUES 9/10/11-speed systems Compatible with most 9, 10, and 11-speed e-bike drivetrains Optimized for wider modern e-bike cassette tooth profiles Requires chain sizing prior to installation NOT compatible with 12-speed systems Master link type depends on packaging variant Service / Ownership Context This is a premium e-bike chain meant to survive motor torque and heavier bikes. Expect longer service life than standard chains when maintained properly, but regular lubrication and stretch checks are still required. Fit & Use Signals Good Fit: Shimano CUES riders, commuter e-bikes, cargo e-bikes, and any 9–11 speed e-bike seeing regular torque load. Not A Fit: 12-speed drivetrains or lightweight acoustic bikes where e-bike reinforcement isn’t needed. This is an e-bike chain, not a regular KMC chain. Biggest mistake customers make is trying to save money by running standard chains on mid-drives. They stretch fast and eat cassettes. Shield Tech pins are the whole point here — they resist side load from motors when shifting under power. Plate shaping works especially well with Shimano CUES wide tooth profiles, but it also behaves fine on older 9–11 speed systems. 132 links matters. Many e-bikes need the extra length. Still has to be sized. Heat treatment is noticeable — stiffer feel than standard chains. Riders love longer wear and quieter shifting. Complaints usually come from people expecting 12-speed compatibility. Failure points are still chains: poor lubrication, shifting under full motor load, and ignoring stretch. Who this is really for: commuters, cargo riders, and anyone burning through chains on mid-drive e-bikes. Who should avoid: acoustic bikes or 12-speed users. Mechanic advice: size properly, lube regularly, check stretch early. Replace at 0.5% on e-bikes to save cassettes. Tell riders to ease off power during shifts — motors still kill chains.
