For the Defense. [Caption title].

San Jose, California: AP Wirephoto, 1972. 7-1/4 x 10 inches. B&w press photograph. Red ink stamp to verso appears to have bled through to recto, causing a red smudge in the center of the print; stray red ink mark to snipe section. Very Good. Press photograph of a courtroom sketch by Don Juhlin of Fleeta Drumgo testifying in Angela Davis's trial. The caption reads: "For the Defense: This artist's sketch shows Fleeta Drumgo, one of the Soledad Brothers, who was the next to last witness to testify in the defense of Angela Davis in Santa Clara County Superior Court Wednesday, before the defense rested its case. He is being cross examined by Albert Harris, chief prosecutor. Miss Davis is charged with murder, conspiracy and kidnaping [sic] in connection with the escape attempt from the Marin County Courthouse in which four persons died." (May 25, 1972)
