New York: Associated Press, 1964. 7-7/8 x 5-1/2 inches. B&w press photograph, a "re-photo," with snipe in the image and stamps to verso. Sticker and faint toning to verso. Very Good. Unusual press photograph of Rosa Parks, dressed in a floral blouse and without her glasses on, smiling at the camera. The caption, dated August 22, 1964, reads, in full: "She Set a Precedent. -- This is Mrs. Rosa Parks, now of Detroit, who, on Dec. 1, 1955, refused to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Ala. From the Negro woman's defiant stand sprung the roots of the nonviolent civil rights action across the nation."
