San Francisco: Swadley [Photo], 1921. Black wooden glass-covered frame, 14 x 41 inches, divided into three sections, each with a 7-1/2 x 9-1/2 inch b&w photograph mounted on a board; holograph captions in white ink to mount of each photo. Light general wear to frame, plus approx. 1/2" chip to top of left side. Photos bright and clear, with "Swadley San Francisco" blindstamp to lower corner of each. Very Good. Three sharp photographs capturing a snippet of San Francisco's thriving maritime trade in the 1920s, showing the steamers S.S. Alaskan and S.S. Ohioan docked at Pier 26, followed by two interior shots of the pier as the ships were unloading and loading cargo. The photographer, Wesley Swadley, was the official photographer of the Pan-Pacific International Exposition in 1915.
