Klipsun Cabernet Sauvignon

Klipsun Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the renowned Red Mountain AVA in Washington State, a region celebrated for producing powerful, structured, and age-worthy red wines. The Klipsun Vineyard, established in 1982, is a highly acclaimed site, often recognized as one of the "Top 25 Vineyards in the World" by publications like Wine & Spirits magazine. This vineyard's unique terroir, characterized by warm days, cool nights, and well-drained, mineral-rich soils, contributes to the distinctive character of Klipsun's Cabernet Sauvignon. Klipsun's Cabernet Sauvignon is known for its robust and concentrated style, showcasing deep fruit flavors and a formidable tannin structure. Expect aromas and flavors of dark fruits like blackberry, cassis, dried cranberry, and plum, often layered with notes of wild sage, cocoa, cedar, tobacco, and baking spices from oak aging. Winemaking typically involves fermentation in small tanks and extended maceration, followed by significant aging in French oak barrels (often 50% or more new oak). These wines are built for the long haul, often benefiting from 5-10 years or more of cellaring to allow the tannins to soften and additional savory and complex notes to emerge. Klipsun Cabernet Sauvignon is a prime example of Washington State's ability to produce world-class Cabernet that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with top international examples.
