Kitama - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'6 X 8'11

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind Anatolian heritage rug features a flatwoven construction with a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Designed with a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, and offers a reversible weave, soft-touch distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones. About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variations, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs. Distressed elements, such as erased pile areas or overdyed washes, reveal the rug's base structure and ghost traces of the original pattern, while medallion and floral compositions serve as hallmarks of classical Anatolian design. Where It Works The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as a practical base for layering over larger carpets.
