Happy Cheetah Reading: Kindergarten

While anyone can make something complex, it takes a true genius to simplify. This program delivers simplicity. No separate parent manual or additional training required. Short, easy-to-use instructions. A complete language arts program, this book includes reading, handwriting, vocabulary acquisition, spelling, grammar, and creative writing. Here’s what you’ll do with your student. Because the research proves that copywork is integral to helping students learn to read quickly and easily, the Happy Cheetah Reading System starts with handwriting, then moves to phonics, where students learn the connection between sounds and written letters. The Getting Ready workbook introduces your students to printing by hand. It uses a developmentally appropriate sequence for both capital and lowercase letters, so all beginning writers learn in the most efficient and easy way possible. All Happy Cheetah workbooks use a unique font, developed with Dr. Karen Holinga’s input, specifically designed to address the handwriting issues that she sees regularly in her clinical practice.  With this font and sequence, you can start to prevent letter reversals from the very beginning! After they learn to print all the individual letters, students move into beginning copywork.  Next they start to work on hearing individual sounds in words (also called phonemic awareness), and finally practice writing numerals. After this book, which you can work through at your student’s pace, you’ll move into the Cub Starting workbook. This workbook ties together with the controlled readers, and your student will read thirty stories in these three readers.  Along the way, you’ll teach the methods that all successful readers use. Your student will gain the ability to hear individual sounds in words (phonemic awareness). Your student will also learn new vocabulary, practice handwriting, and increase in fluency, all while gaining confidence and ease in reading and writing.Regular copywork encourages swift reading development. Enjoyable exercises keep your student interested while improving skills. Happy Cheetah: a research-driven program for beginning readers. We invite you to start your journey today. Katie loves the short stories and that they all connect. Getting her to read just a few each day is hard! She is gaining confidence and trying to read along with me as I read the new reading material to her. —Lauren T. Exclusive Happy Cheetah Reading Magnetic Letters Specifically designed for this program, this set contains lower-case letters, with red vowels and blue consonants.  Dr. Karen says “For beginning readers, magnetic letters are very often the magic key. Parents truly don’t understand their critical value. Magnetic letters will often make the difference between a reading program working or not. They will also much more quickly launch a child that is almost ready. You can save months of instructional time if you use them. In my experience, children love them. (Because they work!)” Don’t miss out on this magic key, exclusive to this program. Exclusive Happy Cheetah Reading Alphabet Cards These cheerful cards offer enjoyable practice for beginning writers. These cards are not officially scheduled anywhere, as students tend to use them voluntarily. Often the appeal of the simple erasing (even using a hand!) is enough to thrill a new writer. Let your student practice writing letters while listening to a book, or take the cards in the car to keep from getting bored. For more reluctant writers, you could offer seven cards a day, to ensure low-stress practice, working up to the whole deck. Continue using as long as this activity is enjoyable, and feel free to stop once writing is well established. BONUS 1: Special Report: How to Raise Your Child’s Reading Level in Half the Time...  Without hours of effort, hiring a tutor, or spending big bucks on fancy doodads! Learn the simple, proven technique and get started today. In Dr. Karen’s doctoral studies, and her clinical practice, she has seen what a tremendous difference this method offers. And so few parents do it! Don’t travel the bumpy, dusty road to reading; come on over to the paved superhighway. There are so few ways to multiple time. This is one. Yours free with your purchase. BONUS 2: Foolproof Stop Reversing B and D Forever Bookmarks Did you know that every time children say or write the wrong sound, they need to say the correct sound twelve times in a row to eliminate the sound confusion?  Help your child never guess again.  In Dr. Karen’s clinical practice, she has experimented with many methods of helping students not reverse their letters, and at last she has found the solution to stop b-d confusion.  When children see the letters in order a-b-c-d, they don’t mix up the sounds. Even children who struggle to memorize the whole alphabet know A, B, C, and when they see the letters in order, they can double-check the letters and sounds and know for sure... no guessing!  Keep one of these bookmarks handy whenever your child is reading or writing, and watch reversals become a thing of the past. Yours free with purchase. BONUS 3: The #1 Optometrist-Recommended Guide for Reading Dr. Karen Holinga’s preferred optometrist called her one day with two specific recommendations: stop giving gumballs as treats, and use this tool with children who struggle to keep their place on a page. Dr. Karen didn't stop giving gumballs, but she did start using this tool when she reads with her students.  This low-tech tool helps beginning readers keep their place on the page. You’ll be thrilled by how much less distracted your child is once you incorporate this in your daily reading practice. Yours free with your purchase.
