Kids First Engineering Design

Speed, power, catapults, and collisions! Physics and engineering are full of action! Kids will have the 20 models in this introductory kit racing, rolling, flying, falling, crashing, balancing, and spinning around in 22 action-packed science experiments. After following step-by-step illustrated instructions to build each model — which include a tightrope walker, elevator, crane, windmill, and all-wheel drive ATV — kids test the models to demonstrate and comprehend basic laws of mechanical physics and how they exist in our everyday lives. The experiments provide opportunities to learn about forces, gravity, storing and converting energy, and how the laws of physics apply in our solar system as well as on Earth. While building the models and reading through the manual, young researchers gain hands-on experience with the engineering design process and they learn about various topics in the fascinating world of mechanical physics and engineering. The 80-page, full-color manual presents digestible scientific facts in a fun and straightforward way, enhancing the entertaining yet educational value of this comprehensive science kit.
