Growing Tips for Key Lime Bush Caring for the Key Lime Bush is simple and rewarding. Follow these growing tips to ensure a healthy plant and abundant fruit: Sunlight: Key Lime Bushes thrive in full sun, so plant or place your bush where it will receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Indoors, position it near a sunny window. Soil: The Key Lime Bush prefers well-draining soil. If growing in a container, use a high-quality citrus potting mix, and ensure your pot has good drainage. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, and be mindful not to overwater. Container-grown plants may require more frequent watering. Temperature: The Key Lime Bush loves warmth and thrives in temperatures between 60-85°F. In cooler climates, move the plant indoors when temperatures dip below 50°F. Fertilizing: Feed your Key Lime Bush with a balanced citrus fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring through fall) to encourage healthy growth and fruit production. Pruning: Lightly prune your bush in early spring to maintain its shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. This helps promote airflow and improves overall plant health. Pest Control: Keep an eye out for common pests like aphids or spider mites. Use organic or insecticidal soap if needed to keep your plant healthy.
