Kemtec Science: Blood Spatter Target Grades: 9-14 Number of Students: 24 students working in six groups of four The Blood Spatter Kit includes in depth experiments which help students become aware of how physics plays a role in criminal investigation. Students learn things like how gravity and angles affect a stain patterns. Includes the construction and use of a spatter chamber. Experiments include Distance Effect on Blood Spatter, Identifying Distance and Angle of Travel with Blood Spatter, and Investigating Blood Spatter with Luminol. Experimentation uses totally safe synthetic blood. Teaches students the sixteen general rules of blood spatter interpretation and extensive investigative technology. Includes student assessment materials. Cross-curricular use of science and writing skills are applied in creating a crime scene scenario. Meets national standards for grade 9-12.
