KAVVIA Kavvia DermaLux Diode Laser The Kavvia DermaLux Diode Laser is a professional laser hair removal system that works at 808 nm, with 755 nm and 1064 nm available as options on the same platform. Energy density is set anywhere from 0 to 300 J/cm2. Pulse width runs from 10 to 400 ms, the repetition rate from 1 to 10 Hz, and the duty cycle is 33%. The HS-DI-1800 handpiece takes three spot sizes, 12x32, 12x25 and 12x15 mm. Cooling is a conducted cooled stack with FAC technology, and the machine comes with a one-year warranty. Energy density, pulse width and repetition rate are three separate settings at the console, and each one can be recorded and repeated at the next appointment. The optics are a micro optical design that forms the focusing spot in place of an optical waveguide. Spot size is decided by which of the three windows is fitted, and the 12x32 mm window covers more ground per placement than the 12x15 mm one. Treatments cover full body and targeted hair removal, underarm, bikini and Brazilian work, facial hair reduction and men's grooming, all of it from a console built for aesthetic clinics. Energy density, pulse width and repetition rate move independently of each other, and the handpiece is built without an optical waveguide. Three diode lines on one console 808 nm is the working line, with 755 nm and 1064 nm available as options. One console covers three diode wavelengths rather than three machines. 755 / 808 / 1064 nm Energy density across the full span Energy density is set anywhere from 0 to 300 J/cm2 at the console, so a light pass on fine hair and a heavier one on coarse hair run on the same machine. 0 to 300 J/cm2 Pulse width and rate move apart Pulse width runs from 10 to 400 ms and the repetition rate from 1 to 10 Hz, at a 33% duty cycle. Both are set at the console. 10 to 400 ms The optics replace the waveguide A micro optical design forms the focusing spot in place of an optical waveguide structure. The handpiece that results is smaller and lighter than a waveguide handle. Micro optical spot TREATMENTS What it is used for Hair removal is the whole of the treatment list, and it is split five ways by the area being worked. Spot size, energy density and pulse width are what a clinic changes between them. IPL 1 to 10 Hz Shop the AuraLight FAQ Frequently asked questions What wavelengths does the DermaLux run?+ 808 nm is the working line. 755 nm and 1064 nm are available as options on the same platform, so one console can carry more than one diode wavelength. What is the DermaLux used for?+ Hair removal, across five areas: full body and targeted work, underarm, bikini and Brazilian, facial hair reduction and men's grooming. It is a clinic console built for aesthetic professionals. How much energy density does it put out?+ Anywhere from 0 to 300 J/cm2, set at the console. Pulse width is a separate setting, from 10 to 400 ms. How fast does it fire?+ From 1 to 10 Hz, at a 33% duty cycle. The rate and the pulse width are set independently of each other. What spot sizes does the handpiece take?+ Three, on the HS-DI-1800 handle: 12x32 mm, 12x25 mm and 12x15 mm. The 12x32 mm window covers the most ground in a single placement. How is the laser cooled?+ A conducted cooled stack with FAC technology. Heat dissipation is handled in the packaging around the laser bar. Why is there no optical waveguide in the handpiece?+ The waveguide structure is replaced by a micro optical design that forms the focusing spot. The handpiece is smaller and lighter than a waveguide handle, and it is what the operator holds through a full body pass. How long does the laser bar last and what warranty comes with it?+ The laser bar is life tested past 50 million shots, and the machine comes with a one-year warranty. What does the 33% duty cycle mean?+ It is the share of the time the laser is actually emitting while it is firing at a set rate. On the DermaLux that share is 33%. How is the DermaLux different from the Luma 808?+ The DermaLux is the platform that carries 755 nm and 1064 nm as options alongside its 808 nm working line, and its energy density, pulse width and repetition rate are all operator-set. The treatment list is the same on both machines.
