Karuselli Lounge Chair

The Artek Karuselli Lounge Chair is a striking blend of ergonomic innovation and sculptural beauty. Designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro in 1964, the chair reflects years of meticulous experimentation with shape, comfort, and materials. Inspired by snow chairs he crafted with his daughter, Kukkapuro sculpted the Karuselli to follow the contours of the human body. The result is an iconic piece that marries functionality with organic form. Built for exceptional comfort, the Artek Karuselli Lounge Chair offers generous support while maintaining a visually light and fluid silhouette. Its seat cradles the body, encouraging relaxation in any setting. A matching ottoman is included to elevate comfort even further. International acclaim quickly followed its debut. Design legend Gio Ponti featured it on the cover of Domus magazine in 1966, and Sir Terence Conran later described it as his all-time favorite chair. Today, it remains a symbol of timeless modernism and Finnish design excellence. Made to order to reduce waste and overproduction, each Artek Karuselli Lounge Chair is custom-crafted just for you. Whether used as a bold focal point or a refined accent, it brings comfort and character to any space.
