Karma Black Pax Relax Kaftan Dress

Our Karma Pax Relax Kaftan Dress is more than a beautiful garment, it is a philosophy of life. Inspired by the timeless concept of karma, the belief that the energy we send into the world returns to us, this flowing kaftan is designed to bring a sense of ease, beauty, and intention to everyday living. Our Pax Relax Kaftan is a fresh interpretation of our classic silhouette, designed without a drawstring for an effortlessly flowing fit that drapes gracefully over the body. Relaxed, elegant, and endlessly versatile, it embodies the art of dressing beautifully but simplistically. The fabric tells the whole story. Hand block printed on 100% breathable cotton using the ancient Dabu mud-resist printing technique, each dress is the result of a centuries-old artisan tradition from Rajasthan, India. Skilled craftsmen apply a hand-mixed mud paste to the fabric, dust it with sawdust, and immerse it in natural dyes, repeating the process layer by layer to create remarkable depth and texture. Every swirling motif is printed entirely by hand, making each kaftan subtly unique. This slow, sustainable process honors both the artisan and the earth, using minimal water, no industrial machinery, and techniques that have been passed down through generations. Jean Marie fell in love with this extraordinary print from the moment she saw it whilst traveling thru the villages of Rajasthan. It is one of the very first prints she selected for the Pax Philomena collection because it perfectly reflects the spirit of the brand: honoring heritage, celebrating craftsmanship, and creating timeless pieces with meaning. The elegant black-and-natural palette makes it endlessly sophisticated, while the flowing Pax Relax silhouette offers effortless comfort whether worn barefoot by the sea, layered over swimwear, or paired with bold jewelry for an evening gathering. More than a dress, the Karma Pax Relax Kaftan is a reminder to move through life with grace, kindness, and intention. It is a celebration of slow fashion, handcrafted artistry, and thoughtful design, a piece that carries not only exceptional beauty but also a story worth wearing. Slip it on and let its effortless elegance become part of your own journey, because sometimes the most beautiful things we wear are those that carry meaning far beyond the fabric itself. 100% cotton One Size Fits up to 3X Length is 54" Slit hits at 34" Made in India this garment is completely hand block printed and hand sewn with an applied block printed border.  Hand wash cold, or delicate machine wash cold in a lingerie bag to protect hand beaded tassels
