A snake scrapes a hole through a clog and leaves the rest of it stuck to the pipe wall, which is why the same drain backs up again three months later. A jetter does the opposite: it washes the pipe clean. The Kärcher K-Jet 2500 sends 3.3 gallons a minute down the line at 2,500 PSI through a nozzle that fires one jet forward and three jets backward — the reverse jets drag the hose around bends on their own while they scour grease, sludge and scale off the walls, and the water carries all of it out with the flow. 2,500 PSI at 3.3 GPM Enough pressure to break the clog and enough water to flush what it broke. Both numbers matter — pressure alone just drills a hole. Honda GX270 270cc of the engine every small-engine shop in the country already stocks parts for. Pull-start, no electrics to fail on a wet job. Kärcher triplex pump Direct drive, three ceramic plungers. Built for hours at a time, not the ten-minute duty cycle of a homeowner machine. Nozzle that steers itself The three rear jets push the hose forward and pull it around elbows. You feed hose; the nozzle finds its own way down the line. Aluminum frame It lives in a truck bed getting rained on. Aluminum does not rust through the way a painted steel cart does. Flat-free tires Solid, not pneumatic. It has never been aired up and it never will need to be. Why the reverse jets are the whole machine Three of the four jets point backward. That is not wasted water — it is what makes a jetter a jetter. The rearward thrust drives the hose deeper into the pipe with nobody pushing it, and it aims the cutting water at the pipe wall behind the nozzle, so the line is scrubbed on the way in and rinsed on the way out. The single forward jet is only there to open a path. Pull the hose back slowly and the pipe comes out the far end genuinely clean, not just open. This is a gasoline engine — it runs outside only A Honda GX270 puts out carbon monoxide, which you cannot see or smell and which kills people in basements every winter. The K-Jet 2500 is used outdoors, at the cleanout, with the hose fed into the pipe. Never run it in a basement, a crawlspace, a garage with the door down, or any enclosed room — not even briefly, not even with a window open. If the only access to the line is indoors, you need an electric jetter instead; call or text 888-565-6163 and we will tell you what fits. What size pipe is it for? Flow decides the pipe size, not pressure. At 3.3 GPM the K-Jet 2500 is a small- and mid-line machine, and that covers most of the work most people actually do: Right for it — 1½″ to 4″ lines: kitchen and grease waste, floor drains, roof and downspout drains, condensate lines, short laterals, RV and marina dump lines. Its best job — restaurant grease lines. Grease is the one blockage a cable cannot beat, because it re-coats the pipe the moment the cable is out. Hot grease washes out; scraped grease grows back. Not right for it — a 6″ or 8″ municipal main, or a long run full of tree roots. Those want much more water than 3.3 GPM. Call or text 888-565-6163 before you buy if that is the job. What comes with it #4.5 jetting nozzle, ¼″ FPT — 1 forward port and 3 reverse ports. Included, not an add-on. 50 feet of high-pressure hose. 100-foot hose reel mounted on the frame, so you are not coiling hose on the ground. Honda GX270 engine, Kärcher triplex plunger pump, aluminum frame, flat-free tires and a folding handle. ETL safety certification to UL-1776 and a 1-year labor warranty. If you want longer jetting hose on the reel, or a different nozzle for a bigger or a tighter pipe, call or text 888-565-6163 and we will get the right part number on the order with the machine. Is this different from the pressure washer I already own? Completely — and the numbers are what fool people, because they are almost identical. Here is the K-Jet 2500 against one of the gas pressure washers we sell with the same kind of output: Kärcher K-Jet 2500 $4,055.00 Kärcher HD 3.0/27 G $2,080.00 What it cleans The inside of a pipe Surfaces you can see Pressure 2,500 PSI 2,700 PSI Flow 3.3 GPM 3.0 GPM Engine Honda GX270, 270cc Honda GX200, 196cc Business end Self-propelling nozzle on a reel of hose Trigger gun and a 44″ lance How far it reaches 100 ft reel, hose fed into the line 50 ft hose, as far as you can walk Read the top two rows and the rest makes sense. They make roughly the same water, and that is the only thing they have in common. A pressure washer gun cannot go into a pipe, cannot pull itself around a bend and cannot pull backward — put a jetting nozzle on a washer hose and it will still not reach past the first elbow. If you clean driveways and equipment, buy the washer. If you clear lines, buy the jetter. Plenty of contractors here own both, and they never once do each other’s job. Who buys one Plumbers who are tired of the same grease line calling back every quarter. Restaurant and food-service maintenance — the kitchen drain that goes over on a Friday night. Property managers and apartment maintenance, where a jetter on the truck is cheaper than a plumber twice a month. Facility and warehouse crews with floor drains, trench drains and roof drains nobody has touched in years. Marinas, campgrounds and car washes with their own waste lines and no city crew coming. It draws 3.3 gallons a minute and it must never run dry. A garden hose on a good spigot will normally keep up; a weak spigot or a long ¾″ hose will not. Fill a 5-gallon bucket at the tap and time it — under 90 seconds and you are fine. Gasoline and space. It runs outdoors, at the cleanout, and it needs somewhere for the water and the mess to go. Somewhere for the wash water. If you are jetting outdoors and the runoff will reach a storm drain, that runoff is your responsibility. Our water recovery equipment is what catches it. Eye protection and gloves, every time. What comes back out of a sewer line comes back out fast. Get the nozzle into the pipe before you open the throttle A jetting nozzle under pressure outside a pipe will whip the hose hard enough to break a wrist or take out an eye, and it will do it instantly. Feed the nozzle at least three feet into the line first, then bring the engine up. Shut the pressure off before you pull the last few feet back out. Every jetter injury we have ever heard about happened in those two moments. Related equipment we sell Commercial pressure washers — for everything on the outside of the building. Kärcher Mississippi Water Recovery System — vacuums wash water back up so it never reaches a storm drain. Kärcher WWP 80 Sludge Slinger trash pump — for pumping a flooded area out rather than clearing the line that flooded it. Open Up drain opener — the cheap first try on a slow household drain, before anyone gets a machine out. How is a jetter different from a drain snake? A snake is a steel cable that bores a hole through the blockage. The drain runs again, but the grease and sludge coating the pipe is still there, so it closes back up. A jetter washes the pipe wall clean with water and flushes the debris downstream. Snake for a hard obstruction or roots; jet for grease, sludge, soap, scale and anything that builds up over time. Will it cut tree roots? Not really, and we would rather say so. Root cutting takes a much higher flow rate and a root-cutting nozzle. At 3.3 GPM this machine will clear the sludge and small fine roots and get a line flowing, but a lateral genuinely full of roots wants a bigger jetter or a cable machine with a cutting head first. Call or text 888-565-6163 and describe the line — we will tell you honestly whether this is the right machine. Can I run it in a basement? No. It has a gasoline engine and gasoline engines produce carbon monoxide. The machine stays outdoors and only the hose goes inside. If your only access is an indoor cleanout, you need an electric jetter — call us and we will sort out what fits. How much hose does it come with, and can I add more? It ships with 50 feet of high-pressure hose, and the reel on the frame carries up to 100 feet. Longer jetting hose and other nozzle sizes are available from Kärcher — call or text 888-565-6163 and we will put the right part on the order so it turns up with the machine. What water supply does it need? 3.3 gallons a minute, continuously, and it must not be starved. A normal outdoor spigot with a good ⅝″ garden hose will usually do it. Time a 5-gallon bucket at your tap — if it fills in 90 seconds or less you have enough. If not, feed the machine from a buffer tank instead. Does it clean the pipe or just open it? It cleans it, if you use it properly. Feed the nozzle to the far end of the run, then pull it back slowly — the three rear jets scour the pipe wall on the way out. Rushing the pull-back is the difference between a line that stays clear for years and one that backs up again in a few months. What is the warranty? One year labor from Kärcher, and the machine is ETL safety certified to UL-1776. The Honda GX270 carries Honda’s own engine warranty and can be serviced at any Honda small-engine dealer. How does it ship? By freight truck, on a pallet — it is 169 pounds with the accessories on it. We will call you to arrange delivery and let you know if a liftgate is needed. Call or text 888-565-6163 with any question about the delivery.
