This festive bracelet features alternating patterns of repurposed sari textile beads, wood, brass and sustainably harvested bone beads. The bracelet coils around the wrist 4 times. The artisans cover handmade wooden beads with recycled remnants of discarded vintage cotton saris and quilts. Measures approximately 1" wide. Please note: colors will vary as each bead is individually made. All of our products are shipped with cards containing information about fair trade and the corresponding artisan group. ABOUT THE ARTISANS Our kantha jewelry collection is handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in India. The artisans are paid excellent wages and have seen their standard of living greatly increase through fair trade practices. In addition, Worldfinds, the company working with the women, has established the Girls Education Fund, which provides scholarships for marginalized girls to continue school. In India it is estimated that 64% of adolescent girls are forced to leave school early to take care of younger siblings, help run the household or for arranged marriages.
