Planting too shallow can lead to the surface drying out, while planting too deep can expose the seeds to cool soil temperatures, which may cause seed rot. Planting Dates: The ideal time to plant sweet corn is between May 1 and May 15. Planting earlier may risk frost damage, and planting later can result in smaller yields. Seeding Rate: Aim for a planting density of 24,000 to 26,000 kernels per acre. This helps achieve optimal growth conditions. Row Width: Maintain row widths between 30 to 36 inches, ensuring the spacing accommodates the equipment you will use for nurturing and harvesting the corn. These guidelines will help ensure your sweet corn grows successfully with high yields and quality. Choose Kandy Korn EH for a visually appealing and delicious addition to your garden or market, perfect for fresh consumption or freezing for later enjoyment.
