Kaffir Lime

Kaffir Lime The Kaffir lime is a fragrant and distinct citrus variety, known for its bumpy green fruit and aromatic leaves. While the fruit is typically too sour to eat raw, its zest is prized for infusing dishes with a bold, tangy flavor. The real treasure, however, lies in the aromatic leaves, which are a key ingredient in many Southeast Asian cuisines, lending a unique citrusy fragrance to soups, curries, and sauces. Citrus trees are perfect for container gardening, making them an excellent choice for adding a tropical touch to your patio during the summer. Not only do they bring vibrant color and fresh greenery, but they also reward you with homegrown fruit. This tropical plant is not hardy to our area (Zone 7a) and must be brought inside during the winter. Bring your citrus tree in before temperatures drop below 40°.
