Closing Sales (Just for Closers)

Just for Closers — Closing a sale takes a special kind of ability. Many sales people are great at presenting the product, but they just don't have the confidence to finish the job. There can be many reasons for this and they all exist in the mind of the salesperson—not in the mind of the prospective client. Remove the pressure and make closing sales easy! The fact is, a spectacular presentation is one full of knowledge, enthusiasm, and sincerity, and more importantly is a close! The presentation begins assuming the sale so when the time comes to close it is a natural next step in the conversation. Knowing this and doing it however are not the same for all salespeople. Pressure, fear of failure, behavioral aspects of the exchange between seller and buyer such as pushiness, failure to listen carefully to the buyer, and so forth often kill sales. Indeed, there is a well-demonstrated cliché among good sales trainers that states this, “More sales have been killed by the jawbone of an ass than Sampson ever killed Philistines.” The confidence and leadership involved in closing a sale begins by solving a problem for the client. Listening is critical. Asking closing questions a necessary part of a natural close. The client chooses the product because it meets their every concern.
