To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (Replica Promo Shirt with Vintage Print Effect/1995)

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar — Replica Promo Tee (1995) When To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar hit theaters in 1995, it did something rare for its moment: it brought drag queens to the center of a mainstream road movie — with heart, humor, and unapologetic glamour. Starring Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze, and John Leguizamo as Vida Boheme, Noxeema Jackson, and Chi-Chi Rodriguez, the film followed three New York City drag queens stranded in a tiny Midwestern town — where rhinestones met rural conservatism and kindness won out over cruelty. It was campy. It was sentimental. It was iconic. And it gave queer audiences — especially in the ’90s — something big: visibility without tragedy. To Wong Foo became a comfort film — endlessly quotable, deeply earnest, and beloved within queer communities for celebrating chosen family and resilience long before drag culture hit prime-time television.
