Jujube Shanxi Li Tree

Shanxi Li is a showpiece jujube, producing extra-large fruit with the crisp bite and honeyed apple flavor that make fresh jujubes so appealing. The rounded fruit can reach impressive size, coloring from green to glossy reddish brown as it ripens. At the crisp stage, its firm, juicy flesh offers sweetness with a mild tang; later, the fruit can be dried into a chewy snack with deeper, date-like richness. Its size makes each piece satisfying for fresh eating and especially useful for slicing, drying, baking, or adding to autumn platters. Small fragrant flowers and glossy leaves give the tree a refined appearance, while its tolerance of heat and dry conditions makes it surprisingly resilient. For gardeners who want jujube fruit with visual impact as well as excellent eating quality, Shanxi Li brings together scale, crunch, sweetness, and dependable orchard character. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil with space for a standard tree. Jujubes are adaptable once established, but consistent water during fruit development encourages larger fruit. Train young branches into a strong framework and prune for light, airflow, and convenient harvest. Shanxi Li is self-fruitful and can produce as a single tree. A second jujube can increase pollinator traffic and may improve production while adding a smaller, earlier, or sweeter fruit to the harvest.
