Linen Textures

A marriage of unexpected materials creates a sculptural dimension to this large painting. This mixed-media work highlights the evocative play of light on different surfaces. On one side a comb tool is used to create deep, linear texture. On the other side, coarse fabric pieces are layered to achieve a soft, blurred-out rectangular field. The coarse fabric is painted with abstract characters reminiscent of an alphabet or hieroglyphics. Modern, warm, and organic, this piece pairs beautifully with interiors that feature raw materials'particularly wood'and suits relaxed, ranch-style environments.
