In Migle Kosinskaite’s work, Jokers IV presents a face divided into two contrasting halves. One side is light, the other dark, and both are covered with bold dots that create a playful yet striking pattern. The person’s gaze is direct, with a thin green line passing across the eyes, adding a sharp, modern detail to the composition. The contrast between the black and white dots gives the portrait a strong visual rhythm. Shadows on one side and brightness on the other create a sense of duality, as if the figure is showing two versions of themselves at once. The green line adds a surprising, almost electric touch that connects the two sides together. At its heart, Jokers IV explores identity and contrast - how light and dark, playfulness and seriousness, can exist side by side in one person. The artwork feels bold but thoughtful. And while it stands on its own, its style fits naturally with the imaginative and symbolic themes found throughout Migle Kosinskaite’s work. Jokers IV expands the conceptual universe established in Jokers I , Jokers III and Jokers II, where pattern and psychology intertwine. Together, they form a triptych of modern iconography - portraits not of individuals, but of the masks we construct to negotiate the theater of existence.
