John Coltrane “Blue Train” (Limited/180g/Transparent Red Vinyl) LP

Blue Train puts the focus on tenor and soprano saxophone, modal development, harmonic intensity, and spiritual searching. Coltrane is joined by Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Drew, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. The title track and “Moment's Notice” combine blues feeling with dense hard-bop writing and tightly voiced horn arrangements. It is Coltrane's only Blue Note album as a leader and one of the key recordings from his rapid late-1950s development. For fans of Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, and Pharoah Sanders. 8436559463782
