Jocelyn Mackenzie - Push (String Quartet Instrumentals)

The complete collection of the Push String Quartet Instrumentals. Jocelyn says about this special edition of the album "PUSH was arranged entirely for string quartet by five incredibly talented composers Sam McCormally, Emily Hope Price, Franz Nicolay, Adam Schatz, and Patrick Breiner. When I first set out to make my album, I had a collection of demos I had written – mostly on ukulele or raw vocals – and was suddenly struck by the idea that I wanted to hear an entire record written for string quartet. That idea would not unstick itself, but I'm not an arranger, so I reached out to these beautiful friends who selected the songs they wanted to work on. They had full freedom to do whatever they wanted with the arrangements, and I couldn't be more in love with what they created. The lushness and tenderness and strength of their work takes the meaning of each song to entirely new levels that I could never have touched on my own. Their work is worth celebrating in and of itself, so I hope you enjoy these string quartet foundations of the songs from PUSH."
