Hinoki Bath Caddy

A simple form that rests across the bath, crafted from straight-grain Hinoki—designed for balance, function, and quiet pause. Honoring the stillness and rituals of the bath, the caddy offers a simple surface to hold what brings ease to the moment—shaped with restraint, and a sensitivity to use. A subtle rear lip, quietly integrated into the form, helps keep objects gently in place. The design is minimal, yet carefully considered—guided by a balance between function and restraint. Each caddy is made entirely from masame (straight-grain) Hinoki—an exceptionally rare and refined cut of the wood, chosen for its clarity, stability, and quiet elegance. The continuous, parallel grain creates a smooth, uninterrupted surface, enhancing both visual harmony and strength. Crafted with precision, it reveals a calm, unified expression that allows the material to speak. Sourced from the sacred forests of the Kii Mountains, Hinoki is cherished for its smooth texture, warm tone, and gentle fragrance. Prized in Japan for centuries, this wood offers remarkable resistance to moisture and decay. Left uncoated to preserve its natural scent and luster, Hinoki lends a serene clarity to everyday rituals of bathing and rest. Elastomer strips are included and may be applied to the underside as needed for added stability, depending on the bathtub surface and placement.
